Edmond North High School student Olivia Guyer, 16, knows she is really lucky.

On Sunday afternoon, she was driving east down 2nd street in Edmond to pick up some lunch for her sister, when she got hit from the side by a driver leading Edmond police on a chase. The driver then plowed into a nearby light pole. And it was all caught on tape on the Edmond police officer’s dashcam.

The video, released Thursday by Edmond police, shows the moment the officer started following the suspect in the blue truck.

Edmond police say the officer noticed the driver wasn't wearing his seatbelt, and when he ran the tags on the truck, he discovered the truck had been stolen.

As soon as the officer engaged his lights, the driver of that truck took off and refused to pull over.

In the video, you can see him weave in and out of traffic. When he reached the busy intersection of 2nd and Broadway, he slammed right into a white compact car.

Olivia Guyer was the one behind the wheel. She said she remembers the moment of impact.

“Yeah, I remember feeling it, and then hearing it,” said Guyer. “But the only thing that was hurt was my foot."

Guyer still can't believe what she was a part of, and what she witnessed right in front of her.

“I was just really scared and didn't know what was going to happen," said Guyer.

She watched as the driver who crashed into her then slammed into a nearby light pole.

“I sat there for like a little bit, and I watched him jump out the window,” said Guyer. “And then a policeman came over to me and asked me if I was OK."

Guyer said she then watched as Edmond police closed in on the runaway driver with their guns drawn.

Surprisingly she wasn't seriously hurt, and neither was anyone else.

"I don't know it was a miracle," said Guyer.

The suspect, Nathan Green, was not so lucky.

As you can see from his mug shot, Green suffered quite a cut to his face when he hit that pole.

Police officers did check to see if he was alright at the scene, and then hauled him off to the county jail.

Olivia just hopes he stays there.

“Yeah I do!”

Green is still in jail on a $4,000 bond. He is also wanted on an outstanding warrant in another county.
