A two-year-old pup wounded by several other dogs in an attack that was caught on video, is now ready to look for his forever home.

Back in June, News 9 reported on a viral video showing three pit bulls attacking a pit bull mix, 2-year-old Bootsy in Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare officials responded and rescued Bootsy. Nearly two months later, Bootsy has healed and is ready to find his forever home.

Officials said Bootsy is mellow, friendly and has become a staff favorite at the Animal Shelter, hanging out in offices, going on walks and playing while he recovered.

Bootsy, who is best suited for a home with no other pets, will soon be available for adoption. You can send a short essay by Friday to animalwelfare@okc.gov if you’re interested in adopting him. Be sure to describe your past pet experience, your current household and why your home is ideal for Bootsy.

The Animal Shelter, located at S.E. 29 and S Bryant Avenue, is open for adoptions from noon to 5:45 p.m. every day except holidays and the third Wednesday of each month, when it opens at 2 p.m. Government-issued photo identification is necessary to complete an adoption.

All adoptable animals at Animal Shelter are vaccinated, treated for worms and spayed or neutered. Visit www.okc.gov/animalwelfare for pictures of animals available for adoption and more information.
