Vandals go on a graffiti rampage leaving behind a spray paint trail that stretches across parts of northwest Oklahoma City.
It's been there several days, and who will be held for the cleanup may surprise you.
Drive through urban parts of Oklahoma City, and you'll see it. Bridges and businesses that are tagged with graffiti. It is not something you would usually see on the city's outer edges, especially newly constructed neighborhoods.
"It is strange,” Kevin Corley said.
The tagging led drivers on a visual trail along Northwest Expressway, west of town.
"If you start driving into Oklahoma City, you see it on both sides of the road,” he said.
The images are loud and colorful and catch even the littlest of eyes.
"My son was more distraught than I was over the deal,” one father said.
Neighbors are talking about it, and their biggest concern is who is going to pay for it.
"We walked over there and took a look at it, and there is some profanity on it,” Corley said.
Believe it or not, whoever owns the property that's tagged with spray paint is responsible for cleaning it up.
If the graffiti is not removed, the city will take care of it and charge the owner much like a tall grass complaint.
"I would think that the HOA would have some sort of sandblasting or power washing system that they could use to take care of it,” Corley said.
