Friday, OKC reached its hottest temperature since August 31, 2013. The triple-digit heat continues this weekend with some relief on the way next week.

Highs Saturday and Sunday will likely rise to and above 100 degrees for most of Oklahoma. Heat index values will easily top 105 degrees statewide and may reach 117 degrees in some locations.

Thankfully, some relief is on the way by the end of the weekend as a cold front moves into northwest Oklahoma late Sunday. Rain chances will spread into NW and western Oklahoma Sunday night into Monday morning. There’s a slight chance of showers and storms in OKC on Monday as the front moves through during the day.

The slight rain chances will continue through Wednesday and Thursday before the heat makes a return.

Find ways to stay cool if you have to be outside. If not, stay inside! Don't overdo it!
