OKLAHOMA CITY - Crews have contained a grass fire that flared up in northwest Oklahoma City, Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters were called out to the area in the 11000 block of Roxboro Ave., near N. Council Rd. and W. Hefner Rd., just to the northwest of Lake Hefner around 1:15 p.m.

The fire was caused by a controlled burn in the field before the wind carried it beyond its confines.No homes were theatened and fire crews were able to quickly get a handle on it.
