Police are investigating a series of break-ins inside a downtown high rise.

Thieves hit a couple of businesses at the First National Center making off with thousands of dollars.

The business owners say they were surprised by the burglaries because the building has 24 hour security.

"There was no forced entry, so it is kind of puzzling," said Stephanie Morrical, Cafe7 co-owner.

Morrical said it appears as though the suspect gained access to the building with a key and she discovered the restaurant's safe missing while opening up on July 8.

"I just couldn't believe it. It was just so shocking you know," Morrical said. "You work hard and then stuff like that happens, it's just heartbreaking."

Morrical reported the burglary to police. She told officers the safe and the rollers from one of the trash cans were missing.

"We figured out they had stolen the rollers off one of the trash cans and put the safe on it and pushed it out, so that’s how they got it out," said Morrical.

Despite several surveillance cameras in the building, Oklahoma City police say the thieves avoided showing their faces.

"Officers reviewed the surveillance video and the only thing out of the ordinary is they were able to see some sort of a flashlight in the video," Oklahoma City police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

The video did help investigators narrow down a timeline for the burglary.

Police believe the suspects were in the restaurant about 10:30 p.m. June 7, 30 minutes before the St. Anthony's Metro Medical Office was burglarized.

In that case, a diamond watch, petty cash, and other office supplies were stolen.

If you have any information about these cases, Oklahoma City police ask that you call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
