Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of one person and injured another one in southwest Oklahoma City, Saturday night.
It happened at about 8:30 p.m. on Interstate 44, just south of S.W. 59th in Oklahoma City.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a passenger in one of the vehicle involved, 42-year-old Gustavo Lopez, was pronounced dead at the scene due to head, trunk and arm injuries. The driver of that car, 33-year-old Sandoval Hernandez, was transported to Mercy Hospital with a head injury. He is said to be in stable condition.
The driver of the other vehicle involved, 23-year-old Landon Horn of Yukon, was not injured.
The cause of the collision is under investigation. However, OHP troopers said they did smell an odor of alcohol on Hernandez, and that they found illegal drugs in Horn's vehicle.
