Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of one person and injured another one in southwest Oklahoma City, Saturday night.

It happened at about 8:30 p.m. on Interstate 44, just south of S.W. 59th in Oklahoma City.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a passenger in one of the vehicle involved, 42-year-old Gustavo Lopez, was pronounced dead at the scene due to head, trunk and arm injuries. The driver of that car, 33-year-old Sandoval Hernandez, was transported to Mercy Hospital with a head injury. He is said to be in stable condition.
