Police are looking to the public to help identify a suspect who beat and sexually assaulted an elderly Altus woman in early June.
The 83-year-old victim told investigators she was inside her home that Wednesday, when at around 10 p.m. the suspect knocked on the door and then entered the home. The woman told police she did not lock her door.
Once inside the home the suspect attacked, not only sexually assaulting the woman but also physically beating her, breaking several of her bones in the process.
The Jackson County Sheriff's office is handling the investigation, along with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late 30s, standing approximately 5'7” tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He has bluish eyes and short light curly sandy brown hair. He was wearing light brown plastic round-framed glasses. He also has a small tattoo on his right shoulder.
He fled the scene in a newer model two-door, white or creak colored pickup with a short bed.
An OSBI forensic sketch artist interviewed the victim and, based on her description, drew a likeness of the man.
Anyone with information regarding this crime, or if you believe you recognize the man in the sketch, you are asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff's office at (580) 482-0408.
