Saturday we heard from the man who had a gun pointed at him by a veteran Oklahoma City police officer last month.

That officer was charged, but said it was an act of self-defense.

Kurt Ward has two young children with the daughter of Sgt. Cecil Moss.

Ward said after he and the mother of his children broke up, they each took one of their sons before a baby swap turned into a gun-drawn altercation.

There are multiple sides to the big brawl that went down outside a northwest Oklahoma City home near Miller and 13th on April 4.

Kurt Ward said he showed up to his home on Miller Avenue where his children's mother was also staying at the time.

Their 3-month-old son Sebastian was in the home while their 16-month-old son, Kingsley was in Ward's car with his mother.

Ward said he went in the house to see his youngest son but before he could get to the baby's room, he said he was blocked by 12-year Oklahoma City Police Sergeant Cecil Moss.

"So the story where I went in and I tried to snatch this kid, you know, I went by this big man and took my kid out of the baby bed, strapped him into the car seat and ran by him again, you know, that's impossible, first of all," Ward told News 9.

Ward's mother waiting in the car said her son came out of the house running and jumped into the car.

Meanwhile, the children's mother and her step-mother tried to open the car doors and take the child inside.

Driving away, Ward said Moss pointed a gun at them. "He pointed the gun right at me and when I got down at the floorboard, he pointed the gun at my mother, which is right in front of his grandchild," Ward said.

Moss said he acted in self-defense when the car came charging at him and hit his knee.

But Ward said Moss kicked the car and smacked the roof with his gun.

The Oklahoma County DA charged Moss for Pointing a Firearm.

"I'm glad the D.A. accepted the charges because I mean it's a criminal act if this was something I had done, I would be in jail already."

Ward admitted he has a criminal past involving drugs, but said he just wants custody of both his boys.

Both Ward and Moss have Victim Protective Orders filed against each other.

Sgt. Moss is on paid administrative leave during the investigation.

The family will be back in court fighting for child custody on July 6.
