A 3-year-old girl was flown to a Tulsa hospital and is in serious condition after an ATV accident in Leflore County on Sunday, a report says.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the girl was sitting on an adult driver's lap while the ATV was stationary in a private driveway in Whitesboro. The girl pushed the throttle to full speed, causing the ATV to accelerate and go through a barbed-wire fence, OHP says.

The girl was taken by private vehicle to the Choctaw Nation Health Care Center, then transported by helicopter to Tulsa. She has head, arm and trunk external injuries, the OHP report says.

Two other passengers – both 7-year-old girls – were sitting on the ATV as it was in the driveway, OHP says. They were both treated and released from a Talihina hospital.

The adult on the ATV, 38-year-old Brady Brewer, also was treated and released in Talihina.

OHP says Brewer's condition at the time of the collision was apparently normal.

The cause of the crash still is under investigation, the report says.
