Oklahoma City officials want to remind residents to get a garage sale permit first if they are planning to host a garage sale this spring or summer.

According to city officials, permits are $7 and are available online by logging on to www.okc.gov, calling (405)-297-2606 or by visiting Oklahoma City's licensing office at 420 W. Main. The permit number will be given to applicants over the phone and must be posted at the sale location.

Each household is allowed to have two garage sales annually. The sale must be held between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and each permit is good for three consecutive days.

People who enjoy bargain hunting at garage sales can log on to http://www.okc.gov/services/garage_sale to view daily garage sale listings throughout Oklahoma City. The listing is free to those who get the required permit for their garage sale.

Garage sale signs are not allowed on utility poles, traffic sign poles, medians or in the City right of way.

For more information, log on to www.okc.gov.
