The Seminole Police Department along with the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation are investigating a double homicide, Friday afternoon.

Authorities were called to the scene behind the Seminole Walmart located at 1500 E. Wrangler Boulevard.

Around 7:30 a.m., a passerby driving in the area of 2600 N. Harvey in Seminole called police to report a SUV in a ditch. When the officer arrived, he found a deceased male and female inside the vehicle.

Authorities said 30-year-old Summer Gokey and 26-year-old Joseph Bounds were found dead inside a sports utility vehicle in the 2600 block of north Harvey Road. The two are from the Seminole area, authorities said. OSBI agents and Seminole officers are running leads trying to identify a possible suspect, according to a press release.

Neighbors in the area said they are on edge. “It's a scary thought. I hope who ever done [sic] whatever they did, I hope they are caught and found. But, that's a scary thought,” neighbor Mark Florie said.
