The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports four more residents have died due to the flu, according to the latest numbers released Thursday.

The numbers bring the total number of flu-related deaths this flu season to 94.Twelve of those deaths have occurred in Oklahoma County

The OSDH says the new deaths also included one each in Comanche, Oklahoma and Pontotoc counties, between February 25 to March 3.

OSDH officials say the number of flu-related hospitalizations is down for the same time period. Only 20 hospitalizations were reported.

OSDH spokesman Tony Sellars says the flu cases they are now seeing are mainly influenza type B, and not H3N2, which was the strain that this season's flu vaccine was not effective against.
