Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation arrested two teenagers in connection to the burglary and arson of Guymon High School.
According to the OSBI, on February 4, the Guymon Public Schools Chief of Police requested OSBI assistance with a possible arson and burglary at the high school.
At about 7 a.m. that day, the school principal arrived at the school and smelled a strong odor of burned wood. He said he found four areas in the wood technology shop where fires had been started.
The fires burned themselves out. An OSBI agent and two criminalists with the OSBI Latent Evidence Unit began investigating. The Office of the State Fire Marshal also assigned two agents to assist with the scene investigation.
After numerous interviews, the OSBI agent arrested two male juvenile students of the high school for burglary and second degree arson.
Both teens were transported to the Hooker Detention Center in Hooker, Oklahoma.
