Oklahoma forward TaShawn Thomas has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season following his performances vs. Iowa State and Kansas State. He shares this week's honor with Texas' Myles Turner.

The 6-8, 242-pounder from Killeen, Texas, averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 blocked shots and 1.5 steals in a 94-83 win over Iowa State on Monday and a 59-56 loss at Kansas State. Thomas shot 55.6 percent from the field (15 for 27) on the week.

Thomas scored a game-high 22 points and added 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in the win over No. 14 Iowa State. He made 11 field goals (tied for the most by a Big 12 player this season in league play) on 18 attempts. At Kansas State, he finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals.

On the season, Thomas is averaging 11.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots while shooting 53.0 percent from the field. He ranks fourth in the Big 12 in blocks and second in field goal percentage.

Kansas' Perry Ellis and Oklahoma State's Le'Bryan Nash were named the league's co-players of the week.

The 17th-ranked Sooners host Texas on Tuesday at 8 p.m. CT at Lloyd Noble Center.
