Oklahoma City police arrested a 19-year-old who is accused of robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint Saturday morning.

According to police, at about 7 a.m., officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Heritage Ridge Apartments, located at 7566 N.W. 10th Street.

A taxi driver told police that he had dropped off a customer at the apartment complex. He asked the customer if he could pay with a credit card, and he began to reach down for his tablet and card reader. However, when he looked up, the customer was pointing a 9mm black handgun at him, saying, “Can I pay with this?”

According to police, the suspect then demanded money from the taxi driver. When he did not get any money, police said the suspect took the victim's tablet and got out of the taxi. He then fired two shots at the car before running away from the scene.

The victim told police that the stolen tablet is equipped with a GPS tracking device. Police tracked the tablet to the area of N.W. 7th Street and Anita Drive. That's where they found the suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Trevon Sherrod Pollard.

Police said they found the stolen Samsung tablet in Pollard's pocket. The victim also positively Pollard as the customer who robbed him.

Pollard was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on multiple complaints, including assault and battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, and robbery with a firearm.
