Police said a man was arrested after an 18-month-old child was reported not responsive at a residence in the 600 block of E. Locust in Enid.

Authorities said emergency responders found the child was gasping for air and they immediately took the child to the hospital. After observation, health officials said the child had suffered serious trauma to the brain and abuse was suspected. Investigators said they questioned 26-year-old Joshua Luckette, who said he was the sole caretaker of the child at the time of the injury.

Luckette was placed in the Garfield County Detention Center in Enid on a felony count of child abuse.
