Oklahoma Mom Says Daughter Has Battled Flu Twice This Season

An Oklahoma mother says her daughter is battling the flu for the second time this season, and now her son has it too.

Both times this mother took her daughter into an Urgent Care to get checked out. The first visit she knew the flu was going around and wasn't caught off guard, but now months later, she can't believe her daughter got it again and now her son has it too.

Mom Carolyn Harger does what she can to try and keep her kids healthy.

“Both my kids laugh at me, but they carry to school, the Germ X”.

She said her husband and two kids rarely get sick, but this year her family's been hit hard.

Her 11-year-old daughter first caught the flu back in December.

“As soon as she got into the car Friday after school, I looked at her and knew something was wrong. She had that sick look”.

The doctor diagnosed her with Type A flu, and within a few days of resting and taking medicine she was healthy again.

But this week, her temperature shot up to 104. This time it was type B flu.

Not long after her daughter was diagnosed, her son started feeling sick too.

Her son is still fighting the flu, which is why News 9 didn't go inside her home.

Carolyn said her kids symptoms were both very different.

This family doesn't get flu shots. But now, they've had a change of heart.
