These spring temperatures are about to take a trip south as a cold front arrives in Oklahoma Wednesday morning. The chance for rain Wednesday stays mainly south of the Red River as a weak system comes through the state. Rainfall amounts will likely stay less than two-tenths of an inch, if that. Highs will only make it into the 40's and 50's with a blustery north wind at 20 to 30 miles per hour. Grab the coats for the first time in several days!

As we head into Thursday, the cold air sticks around. Highs will range from the mid-30's in northeast Oklahoma to the lower 50's in southwest Oklahoma. Winds will be primarily from the east, northeast at 10 to 25 miles per hour. By Friday, our mild air will return as the state warms back into the upper 50's, 60's, and lower 70's. Winds will still be out of the north at 15 to 25 miles per hour.

Looking ahead, temperatures this weekend will be very up and down with a nice day on Saturday and a cooler day on Sunday. There is also potential for another system early next week, but details are blurry at this point. Models are having a hard time with this next pattern change, so stay tuned!
