4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Grant County

An earthquake was recorded near the town of Caldwell, KS., in Grant County Sunday afternoon.

The 4.0 magnitude quake struck at approximately 12:06 p.m.

Its epicenter was located six miles of Caldwell, 33 miles west southwest of Arkansas City, and 33 miles west northwest of Ponca City at a depth of about two and a half miles.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), damage is likely with quakes at magnitude 4.0 or higher. But, there have been no reports associated with this earthquake.
