Multiple accidents are causing traffic to back up on Interstate 35 in Edmond, Thursday morning.
According to authorities, emergency crews first responded to a collision involving three vehicles in the northbound lanes of I-35 at the Route 66 exit in Edmond. The collision caused traffic to back up in the area.
Crews then responded to a second accident in the southbound lanes of I-35 in the same area.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, emergency crews are also on the scene of a third accident involving two semi-trucks, a car and a truck in the northbound lanes of I-35 near S.E. 15th in Edmond.
Troopers said two people have been transported from the scene in unknown conditions.
Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD was over the scene. Pilot Jim Gardner reported that a semi-truck had crashed into the back of a small red car. Firefighters used the jaws of life to rescue the person inside the car.
I-35 northbound at S.E.15th in Edmond was narrowed to one lane. The inside and middle lanes were closed.
Traffic was backed up in the northbound lanes of I-35 in the area. The roadway reopened at about 11 a.m.
