4.1 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Near Cherokee
CHEROKEE, Oklahoma - A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Cherokee, Oklahoma, early Monday morning.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, this earthquake was recorded at 4:19 a.m. Its epicenter was located nine miles east of Cherokee, and 29 miles north, northwest of Enid.
It was about four miles deep.
At 8:48 a.m., another 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded three miles south, southwest of Pawnee and 17 miles northeast of Stillwater. It was about three miles deep.
No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
