Behind a balanced offensive attack, including a game-high 13 points by redshirt sophomore Peyton Little, the Oklahoma women's basketball team closed out the opening week of Big 12 play with a 75-58 victory over Texas Tech at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.

The 17-point victory improved the Sooners Big 12 record to 3-0 and their overall mark to 9-5. Oklahoma also opened the 2012-13 Big 12 season winning its first three contests and went on to reach the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament that year.

The Lady Raiders dropped to 11-4 overall and 1-2 in league with the loss.

Little and freshman point guard Gabbi Ortiz each had an explosive first half for OU. Little ended the opening 20 minutes with all of her 13 points, including a stretch from the 12:04 mark until the 10:30 mark where she rattled off eight-straight for Sooners to turn an 18-9 lead to a 26-13 advantage.

Ortiz, who ended the first half with 10 points, drained three 3-pointers, including a dagger with five seconds left in the half to allow Oklahoma to go into intermission with the 45-25 lead.

Little was held scoreless the second stanza, but the rest of the Sooners picked up the slack. A total of nine players scored in the final half, including sophomore Gioya Carter and senior Sharane Campbell-Olds who combined for the first eight points of the final half. Freshman LaNesia Williams also chipped in five points.

Campbell-Olds broke double-figures for the second time in five games, finishing with 12 points. She also grabbed six rebounds. She joined Little (13) and Ortiz (12) in double-digits for the contest.

The Sooners return to the Lloyd Noble Center Wednesday, Jan. 14 to host third-ranked Texas. The game against the Longhorns is set to tip at 7 p.m.
