Crews Put Out Grass Fire In NW OKC

Firefighters have put out a grass fire in northwest Oklahoma City, Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters have put out a grass fire in northwest Oklahoma City, Thursday afternoon.

According to the fire department, just before 12 p.m., crews responded to the fire in the area of N.W. 150th and Rockwell.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD flew over the scene. Pilot Jim Gardner reported that the fire started in a field and quickly burned north. Crews were able to stop the fire at N.W. 150th.

No homes were ever threatened. N.W. 150th was shut down between Rockwell and Council as crews worked to extinguish the fire.

The fire has burned about 20 to 30 acres. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
