A Blanchard woman needs help locating the owner of something shiny she says she stumbled across seven years ago.

Tonya Turner-Coatney works for a local utility company.

She said in the summer of 2007 she was repairing an underground gas line in South Oklahoma City. While repairing it, she found what looked like a high school class ring under a foot of soil.

She said markings on the ring made her believe it was a 1962 Capital Hill High School class ring.

The letters D.C. and E are also engraved on the inside of the ring.

She did an internet search, and it showed a student named Dale C. Everett graduated from Capital Hill in 1962.

“My mother is an alumnus of Capital Hill and that's what I thought it to be,” she said. “You know Steve it could be from a totally different school and I'm just not knowing it,” she said.

Tonya said she contacted News 9 Wednesday about the ring, because she felt she'd come to a dead end on her own looking for the ring's owner.

“And I thought it was a great way to give someone a Christmas gift if this could be reunited with the original owner or their children,” she said.
