A public meeting turned toxic Thursday night at the Will Rogers Conservatory.

Edmond-based Pedestal Oil has asked Oklahoma City if they can drill for oil and gas next to Lake Hefner.

Thursday night's meeting was supposed to be informational. However, the Will Rogers Conservatory was only large enough to hold half the people who showed up.

Many people there cited health concerns.

"The possibility although small for contamination, the potential is so large, there are just some places you don't do this! *Clapping*"

The city did hold a second public meeting after the first one ended to accommodate the people who couldn't get into the first one.
