Oklahoma used a balanced offensive attack and stingy defense to run away with a 68-39 victory over North Texas Sunday afternoon.

Nine players scored for the Sooners (5-2) in their 29-point victory. OU also forced the Mean Green (0-6) into a season-high 37 turnovers, scoring 38 points off the miscues.

Oklahoma used two impressive runs in the first half – including a 15-2 spurt to close out the opening 20 minutes – to break open its 40-16 halftime advantage. Not only did the Sooners turn the Mean Green over 23 times in the opening half, which resulted in 21 points, they held them to five total field goals (5-of-21).

The Sooners had eight players score in the opening half, led by senior Sharane Campbell-Olds and junior Kaylon Williams with eight points each.

After shooting a strong 45.5 percent (15-of-33) from the field, the Sooners struggled to score in the beginning moments of the final half, hitting just 2-of-9 in the first 10 minutes and turning the ball over 13 times in that time frame.

North Texas slowly chipped away at Oklahoma's lead but the closest it got was 19 points four different times. The final time came with 8:06 to play in the contest when Eboniey Jeter made a layup to put the score at 51-32.

Oklahoma closed out the game with a 17-7 run.

On her birthday, junior Nicole Kornet ended the game as the Sooners leading scorer. She tallied 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting and added six boards.

Three other Sooners finished in double-digits. Redshirt sophomore Peyton Little chipped in 11 points, while Campbell-Olds and K. Williams each contributed 10.

Nine Mean Green players scored but none cracked double-figures. North Texas was led by BreAnna Dawkins with nine points.

Oklahoma returns to action Sunday, Dec. 14 when it plays at Arkansas-Little Rock. Tip is set for 4 p.m.
