Charges have been filed against an 18-year-old who is accused of raping a juvenile female in Norman, Oklahoma.

On Tuesday, Tristen Kole Killman-Hardin, a former Norman High School student, was charged with two counts of first-degree rape of an unconscious victim. He was arrested Tuesday after an arrest warrant was issued.

According to court documents, the 16-year-old victim reported to police that on the night of September 19, she attended a gathering of friends and drank until she was intoxicated. She said she accepted an offer of a ride home from Killman-Hardin. But she remembered little about the remainder of the evening.

The victim told authorities that she woke up the next day with discomfort in her genitals. A short time later, via her phone and social media, she received a copy of a video that appeared to depict her being sexually assaulted in Killman-Hardin's vehicle.

According to court documents, during an interview with authorities, Killman-Hardin admitted that he knew the victim was intoxicated, and that he had sex with her vaginally and anally. In a recorded conversation between Killman-Hardin and another person, police said Killman-Hardin also acknowledged that the victim was intoxicated when he had sex with her.

Based on the victim's statements, admissions from the defendant, video and audio evidence, authorities said they formally filed rape charges against Killman-Hardin.

Many students felt the Norman school district did not take appropriate action regarding rape and bullying allegations. They walked out of class on November 24 in protest.

In a letter sent by the district, the principal acknowledged a rape occurred in September and that the district took "the strongest disciplinary action against the alleged assailant permitted by Oklahoma law," which is suspension for the rest of the school year.

Norman Public Schools released the following statement about the arrest:

"The individual arrested and charged today was notified on September 22 he was being suspended for the rest of the school year. Moreover, he won't be a student of the Norman Public Schools ever again.

We aren't surprised by and are pleased that charges have been filed on him for a rape the charges indicate happened the evening of Friday, September 19. We have been fully cooperative with the Norman Police Department since the rape was reported to us by the alleged victim on Monday, September 22."
