Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Car In Kiowa County

A Gracemont, Oklahoma, man was killed after being hit by a car in Kiowa County, late Monday night.

It happened at about 10:42 p.m. on State Highway 9, five miles east of Mountain View, Oklahoma.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 45-year-old Yvette Zotigh of Carnegie was eastbound on Highway 9 when it hit a pedestrian, later identified as 21-year-old Erwin Pewo Jr.

Pewo was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple injuries. Zotigh was transported to Carnegie Hospital. She was treated and released.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
