The Oklahoma volleyball team extended the program's longest run of NCAA tournament appearances on Sunday night, as the Sooners will travel to Eugene, Ore. to take on LSU in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The Sooners and Tigers will play at 6:30 p.m. CT on Thursday.

Oklahoma finished the year 20-10 and 10-6 in the Big 12 conference, good for a three-way tie for second. The Sooners had been voted fourth in the preseason poll.

With the Final Four in Oklahoma City, the Sooners have had a clear goal in mind all season, but the road won't be easy. Oklahoma also has No. 10 seed Oregon, No. 7 seed North Carolina and No. 2 seed Texas in the Minneapolis region. The Sooners would likely have to beat all of them to get a virtual home game in the Final Four at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Big 12 put five teams in the field, with the aforementioned Texas Longhorns earning the No. 2 overall seed in the tournament. Kansas received the No. 16 seed, while Iowa State and Kansas State both earned berths.
