Girl Killed In Moore Drive-By Shooting
MOORE, Oklahoma - A drive-by shooting took the life of 14-year-old girl in Moore overnight. Authorities said Railena Rhodes was in her bedroom when someone opened fire on her house.
Medics responded to the scene in the 200 block of Southeast Second street about 3:45 Saturday morning and found the young girl shot in the neck.
"When officers arrived, they found a victim, a 14-year-old female, with one gunshot wound. She was found deceased inside the residence," said Sergeant Jeremy Lewis of the Moore Police Department.
Between 10 and 12 people were in the house at the time. They gave police a description of a vehicle that left the scene. Police have located that vehicle and are questioning the people who were inside.
Several shots were fired into the house. The girl was the only one who was hit. Authorities released the name of the victim Saturday afternoon.
