Traffic on the southbound side of Interstate 35 is backed up for miles as crews work the scene of a vehicle fire, Tuesday evening.

The scene is located near the exit to SE 59th St. on I-35, just north of the I-240 junction.

Traffic on the highway is moving slowly; only one lane is closed at this time due to the fire.

Authorities tell News 9 it started when a semi veered off the road and struck an unoccupied vehicle, which then burst into flames. The semi then continued on off the road before coming to a stop on SE 59th St. Police say no one was injured in the crash.

It is unclear how long traffic will be delayed on the highway.
