Christmas may be a holiday away, but Santa Claus came to town for kids at one Oklahoma City Boys and Girls Club.

Santa may be busy this time of year, but on Saturday he had some help spreading Christmas cheer.

"It's an open heart, makes you feel younger, that's what keeps me young," said Santa.

Yvonne Weaver and her friends in the District's Parent Teacher Association (PTA) were the one's putting on a display.

"To give back to the community, that's what it's all about," said Yvonne Weaver with Oklahoma City Public Schools PTA Council.

Families came to get treats they can eat, and even created some crafts for the kids, which on this Saturday, was something sleep couldn't even beat.

“Sleep, sleep all day,” said OKCPS students Tireonna and Bailee.

This was not just about getting treats. It was also about giving them. The price of admission was one brand new toy.

"It makes us excited to know we are helping someone else's child," said Weaver.

They collected over 300 toys.

"Awesome, that's just the word for it, awesome," said Weaver.

The gifts will be packed and wrapped and given away without a fuss.

"We couldn't have done it without the community," said Weaver.

Weaver and her council will be giving a pile to the Boys and Girls Club, sending a message to all brought to you by a cub.

"I just like all the presents here and I like to give them to kids who don't have presents but they need some," said Tireonna.

The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club plan to give the presents to the kids of the club on Dec.12.
