Col. Michael Thompson Speaks At Veterans Day Ceremony In OKC

Col. Michael Thompson, the chief of staff of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, will deliver the keynote address during the annual Veterans Day ceremony on Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

Col. Michael Thompson, the chief of staff of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, delivered the keynote address during the annual Veterans Day ceremony on Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

The annual Veterans Day Ceremony took place at the 45th Infantry Division Museum at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Col. Thompson has more than 30 years of service with the Oklahoma National Guard. He deployed with the 45th Infantry Brigade to Kuwait and Iraqi in 2003-2004. He deployed for a second time to Iraqi in 2007-2008. 

In civilian life, Thompson is the Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety.

Many military and civilian organizations were also represented during the outdoor ceremony with Color Guards and the "Governor's Own" 145th Army Band providing music.
