At least 600 Oklahoma City students will be a little warmer this winter.

Twenty-nine firefighters from across the metro delivered new coats to students at Hillcrest Elementary School Wednesday morning.

The Coats for Kids program, or "Operation Warm," has been going on since 1990. According to event organizers, this is the third year that firefighters from the Local 157 have partnered with Operation Warm to help provide coats for children in need.

The Christian Firefighters began the Oklahoma City Firefighters Coats for Kids program in 1990, in cooperation with the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

Since that time, more than $115,000 has been raised to help provide 1,300 pairs of shoes and more than 3,400 coats to children in the Oklahoma City Fire Department's coverage area.
