When former Oklahoma State offensive line coach Joe Wickline left to take a job at Texas earlier this year, the split was less than amicable. And it seems like old wounds have yet to heal as both parties recently filed lawsuits against each other.

The argument comes down to whether or not Wickline is calling plays for the Longhorns. When OSU re-signed Wickline in 2009, there were provisions written into the contract that he would not leave his position in Stillwater before 2016 for another college job without being released from that contract or negotiating a settlement.

If he breached the contract, OSU was owed damages equal to the remainder of Wickline's due salary: $593,478. However he would be released free-of-charge if he left early for an NFL job or college head coach or offensive coordinator with play-calling duties.

So, Wickline says he's calling plays. OSU says he isn't, and that he's not even performing offensive coordinator duties, in a suit filed in Payne County last week.

Texas assistant head coach Shawn Watson is considered UT's primary play-caller, but the Longhorns gave Wickline the title Offensive Coordinator, perhaps to avoid the buyout.

Now, Wickline is firing back by filing suit in Travis County claiming OSU's lawsuit is baseless and just meant to interfere with his coaching duties at Texas.

The Austin-American Statesman is reporting Wickline has asked for a jury trial.

Oklahoma State and Texas meet in Stillwater on Nov. 15 to settle it on the field.
