USGS Reports 2 Earthquakes In Oklahoma

The United States Geological Survey reported two earthquakes near central and north central Oklahoma, Friday morning.

A 3.0 magnitude quake was reported at 10:11 a.m., three miles south of Guthrie and 12 miles north, northeast of Edmond. The depth was over three miles, according to the USGS.

Then at 11:56 a.m., a 3.3 magnitude earthquake was reported 14 miles west, southwest of Perry and 22 miles southeast of Enid. The USGS reported it as over three miles deep.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
