A married couple with Oklahoma ties is warning of the growing global danger of the Ebola Virus.

Matt and Julie Beemer are Missionaries who flew into Tulsa Tuesday after working in West Africa.

The Ebola Virus has killed thousands there. The Beemers said West African authorities are being vigilant at airports, checking travelers for any signs of sickness.

They said they're surprised American airports aren't taking precautions.

“As we came to America, I mean it's on our passports that we have been in West Africa, an affected area, and nobody checked anything,” they said. “We were quite shocked by that, and that was Tuesday.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises all people who have traveled to an affected region to monitor their health for 21 days.
