With students from most of the Oklahoma City metro area schools heading back Tuesday morning, it's a big day for every driver on your morning commute.

For many of us drivers, this will be the first time in months we'll see school zones in place. And you'll want to take it slow, because authorities across the metro will be watching.

Police remind you to pay extra attention around schools, slow down in school zones, and stop for school buses.

You could face some serious fines specifically in those school zones. Speeding will cost you $202 minimum, passing in school zone will cost you $172, illegally passing a school bus will cost you $202.

The times these areas are considered school zones are before and after school. But start and end of day times also vary school by school.

Drivers are urged to use extra time and plan on possible delays during Tuesday morning's commute.
