USGS Reports 3.4 Magnitude Earthquake In Grant County

The United States Geological Survey reported a 3.4 magnitude earthquake Saturday morning in Grant County.

The United States Geological Survey reported a 3.4 magnitude earthquake Saturday morning in Grant County.

At 5:54 a.m. Saturday, a quake was recorded six miles west, northwest of Medford and 30 miles north of Enid, at a depth of over two miles.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
