A 62-year-old Pittsburg County man was killed early Saturday after he was ejected from his pickup in a crash, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says.

Dow resident Roy James was traveling on U.S. Highway 270 at Ludlow Road about 2:15 a.m. when he departed the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned and was ejected 37 feet, according to an OHP report.

The report says the cause of the crash and condition of the driver still are under investigation.

James was not wearing a seatbelt, the investigating trooper says.
