A motorcyclist has been taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition after a wreck involving street racing, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He has been identified as 34-year-old Alfredo Molina of Louisville, Kentucky.

"Witnesses told us there were two motorcycles, sport bikes, racing on 244 here," said Trooper Aaron Kern. "One of them lost control and crashed into the concrete barrier. The other one left the scene."

It happened at about 5 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 244 near Mingo, the trooper said. Witnesses told the investigating troopers the motorcyclists were going "extremely" fast when crash took place.

"Moral of the story is in for all these people here in town for the bike rally to have fun but be safe. Don't be racing down the highway," Kern said.

Kern didn't know for sure if  Molina was in Tulsa for the National Bikers Roundup that brought about 30,000 motorcycling enthusiasts to town this weekend.

"There's a a lot of bikes in town, so people need to be extra careful this weekend and watch for bikes," he said.

Molina, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained head, trunk, arm and leg injuries in the crash. A collision report states he was in apparently normal condition before the wreck.

The cause is still under investigation, troopers say.
