Mayes County Man Found Guilty Of Murdering His Mother

Jurors find a Mayes County man guilty of murdering his mother, Wednesday.

Jurors recommended William Wilkerson serve life in prison without parole for stabbing his mom to death near Locust Grove nearly two years ago.

At the time of the murder, Wilkerson called 911 himself and admitted what happened. They said he first choked his mother, then got a knife and stabbed her one time, hard enough to break the tip of the knife. Then he went back and got a second knife and stabbed her twice more.

Court records show he thought his mother was lying to him.
