Suspect Sought After Robbing OKC Cash Advance Store

Oklahoma City police are looking for a man who held up a local check cashing business.

Police say he threatened the workers inside with a gun, and forced them to get down on the ground.

That gunman hit the Approved Cash cash advance store near NW 63rd and Meridian Ave. just before the lunch rush on Friday. As it turns out this is the second time in less than three months they've been hit by thieves. Fortunately, the store's surveillance cameras were rolling during the entire robbery.

On the video you can watch as he approaches the women at the counter. At first he acts like he is going to apply for a loan. Moments later he pulls out a gun and demands for the two women to give him all the money they have.

The gunman even gave them a plastic bag to put all the money in. And he doesn't leave until he is satisfied that they have indeed given him all the money in the store.

Fast forward a bit and you see him forcing the women to get down on the floor, telling them to stay down so he can make his getaway out the backdoor. Those who work at the neighboring shops are scared this has happened here.

“It concerns me that I have young children in here,” said Carolyn Windsor, who owns the Dance clothing store next door. “I'm concerned for my employees.”

“Fortunately nobody was injured in this incident,” said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow with the Oklahoma City police department, who is investigating both break-ins. “Obviously we always become concerned. There's a gun involved in this, it could have had a much different outcome.”
