Former Cowboy Brown Drafted By Wolves, Traded To Nets

Markel Brown is headed to the Brooklyn Nets.

Former Oklahoma State Cowboy Markel Brown was selected 44th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and then immediately traded to the Brooklyn Nets. 

Brown will join a loaded roster with future Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.  The Nets also have former All Stars Joe Johnson and Deron Williams.

Brown averaged 17 points and five rebounds last season at Oklahoma State.  He'll be joining former teammate Marcus Smart in the NBA's Atlantic Division.  Smart was selected sixth overall by the Boston Celtics.
