Three Earthquakes Shake Oklahoma Monday Morning

The United States Geological Survey reported three earthquakes in Logan and Grant counties early Monday morning.<br />

The United States Geological Survey reported three earthquakes in Logan and Grant counties early Monday morning.

At 2:42 a.m. Monday, a 3.2 magnitude quake was recorded eight miles southwest of Guthrie and eight miles northwest of Edmond, at a depth of over three miles.

Then, at 4:48 a.m., a 3.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded six miles northwest of Medford, 29 miles north of Enid, at a depth of over two miles.

A second quake was recorded six miles west of Medford at 8:44 a.m. The USGS reported the earthquake as a 3.5 magnitude and two miles deep.  

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
