David Payne and the News 9 team is partnering with Science Museum Oklahoma this summer to host a series of David Payne's Wild Weather Camp shows.

Designed with 2nd to 6th grade students in mind, the camps are a fun and interactive way for Oklahoma families to learn about the development of severe weather events, proper responses to different weather scenarios as well as proper weather safety practices.

The 45-minute program discusses how to be prepared for many aspects of Oklahoma weather including tornadoes, floods, and lightning. Families will explore interesting facts about meteorological conditions and get to experience experiments involving win, lightning, and tornadoes.

"We decided a program like this was needed so that Oklahoma children know exactly what do in severe weather," News 9 chief meteorologist David Payne said. "When they know how to respond and where to take cover, they are much less likely to be afraid. We are so honored to partner with Science Museum Oklahoma this summer. Educating children about weather preparedness will save lives."

The next Wild Weather Camp is scheduled for:

-August 20 at 10 a.m.

David Payne's Wild Weather Camps will be open to public and included with paid admission to the museum. Admission is $13.95 for adults (age 13-64), $11.95 for children (age 3-12) and seniors (Over age 65). Each program will be limited to 500 people and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis with a special voucher.
