OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City police arrested a man after EMSA paramedics say he attacked them while they were trying to help him.

According to police, at about 5:20 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the incident near Southwest 59th and Penn.

Police say two paramedics were trying to help 26-year-old Juan Garcia, when Garcia reportedly hit one of them in the face several times, and bit the other paramedic on the hand.

According to police, when officers arrived, Garcia was not responding to their commands to stop resisting.

Officers were able to take Garcia into custody. After being treated, Garcia was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of assault and battery.
