OKLAHOMA CITY - An Oklahoma City police officer was involved in a head-on collision Thursday morning in northwest Oklahoma City.

According to authorities, the two-vehicle collision happened at about 7:30 a.m. on the Interstate 44 service road at N.W. 36th Street.

Emergency crews have shut down the westbound lanes, and one eastbound lane of N.W. 36th Street. Interstate 44 is not affected.

The officer has been transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver did not have to be transported.

Police have not identified anyone involved in the wreck. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
