An earthquake shook up several residents in the area of Guthrie and Edmond, Friday evening.
The 3.1 magnitude temblor stuck around 6:20 p.m., about four miles south of Guthrie, 11 miles north northeast of Edmond, or about 24 miles north of Oklahoma City, at a depth of about five miles.
News 9 received multiple reports of loud booms in the Edmond area. It is unclear if the earthquake was responsible for those noises.
There has been no official word of damage or injuries related to this quake.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans.
